Halfway There!

Greetings friends!

I am writing to you from not-so-sunny Belgium. Despite the clouds, we are taking this time to rest up before our next flight – another 7 hours to Kigali.

The flight over here was rather uneventful, but we did meet a wonderful man sitting next to us. We never learned his name, but all his friends call him Frenchie. He was on his way to surprise his cousin at her wedding in France. Frenchie moved to the States over 50 years ago from France with his wife and described himself as now being 99% American (he doesn’t barbeque). For all the hubbub about people in Europe not liking Americans, Frenchie had the proudest American hat I’ve ever seen. He was wonderful!

Dinner was actually pretty decent and we watched Captain America on the plane (quite good!) which set us up for the night. We got a bit of sleep, so hopefully we will adjust to the time difference okay.

Here’s a picture of Kevin and I at the Brussels Airport:

We’re so excited for this adventure. It is just now setting in how long we will be gone and what God must have to teach us through this experience. Not much more to report just yet, but I can almost guarantee I’ll have a lot to say tonight when we reach Kigali!
